Birth Photography

Brad and I have been thinking about the birth. Because I want Brad to be available for support and coaching this time, we have been considering asking our friend Charlotte to photograph the birth. She's come along to a few of my appointments and has been so sweet to get photos of the ultrasounds, capturing our emotions and such precious moments. So today I called her. She said absolutely! I am so thrilled! I just hope that Naomi comes around her due date.
Also, on a side note, but also about photos, Brad and I are planning to do a maternity shoot. I wasn't initially going to do one, because of he stretch marks on my stomach from the last pregnancy with Isaac, but I want to do something special his time. If they turn out as I hope they will, I'll share them!
Well, I guess that's it for this week!
31 Weeks; YAY! I only have about 9 weeks left. Can't believe it is going to be here so soon! I am getting little projects done here and there, nesting you might call it. Hopefully I will get everything done I would like to do...
Here's this week's vlog!

29 Weeks! YAY!

Can't believe we only have about 11 weeks left before little Naomi is scheduled to arrive! I am so incredibly excited about what we found out at the latest appt. Just gives me a new level of comfort about anticipating our home birth and that all will be complication free again as it was with delivery of Isaac!

Grandma's visit!

So Brad's mom was here recently and I managed to talk her into letting me get some photos of her and Isaac...which wasn't too hard to do. Here are two of my favorites.

He loved giving his grandma kisses while she was here! So precious and sweet. I am glad I got this shot.

This is her second time coming to Colorado, and each time she talks about moving here...which would be totally wonderful! Of course, there's always small things to work out like selling the current home and then finding a nice place here. But we're hoping and praying it all works out if that's what's supposed to be.

Pregnancy craving...

Okay, so I have not had too many cravings this pregnancy, but I have had one--bananas and chocolate. I modified an old Banana Bread recipe and this is what I came up with! Try it and let me know what you think.

Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Banana Bread

1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
5 tbsp. sour cream
1 c. sugar
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 medium-size mashed bananas
1 tsp. banana flavoring
*1 c. dark chocolate chips (i.e. Giradelli 60% Cacoa), dusted with flour

Preheat oven to 325˚F. Melt butter and set aside. Beat eggs and sour cream, then add the butter. Sift all dry ingredients and gradually add to egg mixture. (I usually hand stir with a spoon.) Add bananas and flavoring. Then stir in the dusted chocolate chips (the flour on the chocolate helps it to evenly distribute throughout the loaf instead of settling in the bottom of the pan.)
Grease 1 loaf pan with butter lightly coating bottom and sides. Bake for 1 hour until golden brown making sure toothpick comes out clean.

*I added the chocolate chips to this recipe. The bread is actually still really good without the chocolate as well.

Brad's Second Father's Day!

So today is Brad's second Father's Day. I am so blessed to have him in my life and to know that God has given our son the best father he could give him. Brad loves Isaac with all his heart and I am so glad that Isaac is a Daddy's boy as well! Happy Father's Day, Brad! I love you with all my heart!

20 Weeks and 1 Day

I eagerly anticipate my appt. this afternoon. I can't wait to find out what we're having. I just hope Little One cooperates. I am determined to not have any more ultrasounds if baby decides to hide again. It's just too frustrating. Here's this week's Vlog.

Top Ten Mommy Must-Haves

These are my top ten must haves in no particular order, because I believe every mommy should have these for her baby! Comments on these or other products you've found invaluable to making baby happy are very welcome!

1. Cradle Swing--if you can afford it or find it used I love the cradle swing that swings back and forth or side to side

2. Papasan chair or bouncing chair--this is essential to distracting your infant (0-4 months) while you do things like take a shower or cook dinner.

3. Pack 'n' Play--great for trips and using when your baby gets older to take outside if you want to do yard work, garden or wash your car.

4. Exersaucer--I started using this once my son was 4 months old. It replaced the papasan chair I had used as soon as he was able to sit up.

5. Boppy for breast feeding mothers and First Years Breastflow technology bottles for breast feeding and formula supplementing mommies-- The boppy is wonderful; it made getting Isaac into the right position so easy for me, especially when he was little. The Breast flow technology bottles I found invaluable for keeping my son on the breast longer as well as switching back and forth between the breast and formula.

6. Swaddle Me blankets--Forget about receiving blankets, SwaddleMe's are the best for getting baby calmed down and tucked in. These specially sown "blankets" are already complete with flaps and velcro to swaddle and secure baby's arms and legs in two easy steps--swaddle and fasten!

7. Robeez shoes--not only are these shoes soft soled, so they are good for baby's feet, but they have an elastic band at the ankle that keeps both socks and shoes on all day long!

8. Beco Baby carrier--if you can afford this you have bought an invaluable product! This carrier is BETTER than a Baby Bjorn carrier not only because of the back support it provides, but the versatility of front or back carrying. It can be used for baby from newborn-45 pounds. I have found my Beco Carrier invaluable especially when going on long trips by airplane.

9. American Red Cross 17-pc. Health and Grooming Kit--I am so glad I got this! I still use many things in this kit and take it on trips out of town because you never know when you might need something--great thing to have on hand.

10. BabyLegs, Hugalugs, or similar--These are wonderful for babies starting to crawl especially if you have carpet. They are cute, come in a variety of patterns and colors, and save those chubby baby legs from rug burn!

This is week 10 and I am sorry I am late getting this video done. We are doing okay this week. Not a lot to talk about other than Isaac's ear infection. Tune in next Tuesday for the VLOG!

9 Weeks!

Hey all! We are experiencing some beautiful weather this week in the Springs. The high for today is 74! Isaac and I are planning on taking a walk and maybe making a trip to the park later this afternoon after nap time. Below is the latest Pregnancy Vlog. This week is extra special because I attached video of the first ultrasound. I hope you are able to see the heartbeat; it is incredibly small but amazing!

Isaac is 16 months!

My darling precious boy is 16 months old today. He loves walking and is doing better everyday. He might just start running soon! He is also signing a lot more and trying to use some kind of verbal language. Below is a photo of him at my ultrasound appointment on Friday. My friend Charlotte Geary took this photo and really captured his cuteness, don't you think? We'll catch you up on the pregnancy tomorrow on the vlog.

Christmas 2008

So I finally got some images of Isaac and some family members from Christmas. We went to Florida this year. And it will probably be the last year we go for a good number of years. Brad, Isaac amd I were sick the entire time we were there and did not truly get to enjoy ourselves. Not to mention that we ended up getting everyone sick. I loved seeing my family, but will plan my trips home in the future for when it is not cold and flu season!

Isaac discovered that his aunties are wonderful because they give you food. My sister Miriam "Aunt Mimi" was renamed Pie Lady because Isaac fell in love with her after giving him some pumpkin pie for the very first time!

The following photo was taken because this was the first year we were able to make it home since we moved out to Colorado. I love my Family!

These next ones are of Brad's nephews Owen and Grant.
